ST. LOUIS - The City of St. Louis could soon set the foundation to help "resettle Chicago migrants" as thousands scramble to find jobs and shelters in the Windy City. A report Wednesday from Chicago public radio station WBEZ (91.5 FM) notes that "a St. Louis civic leader visited Chicago this week to explore bringing migrants to his city."WBEZ reports that thousands of migrants from Venezuela have made way to Chicago since last year, and some are temporarily living at police stations and airports. The report further states St. Louis could be a stronger long-term fit for migrants to help the City of St. Louis reverse its long-time declining population and improve its job force. When should Missouri expect the first snow? Karlos Ramirez, vice president of Latino Outreach for the International Institute, told WBEZ such an arrangement "could be the potential for a great relationship between both cities.” He added, “If the [migrants] are going to be in a better place, St. Louis is goin...10 years later: Joe Kelly's epic NLCS standoff and the Cardinals' latest NL pennant

ST. LOUIS - It's been a decade since one of the St. Louis Cardinals' most memorable runs in recent history. On this date, exactly 10 years ago, the Cardinals secured their 19th National League pennant and rallied behind an epic pregame competition. The Cardinals exploded for seven runs against eventual NL Cy Young winner Clayton Kershaw, rode the hot hand of rookie Michael Wacha and defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers, 9-0, in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series. At the time, the Cardinals had advanced to their second World Series in three years. It's the last time St. Louis has clinched a spot in the Fall Classic, twice making it back to the NLCS, but not any further. The Cardinals eventually dropped the 2013 World Series, four games to two, to the Boston Red Sox, despite carrying a series lead into Game 4. Getting your arms all the way around “Killers of the Flower Moon” is a tricky endeavor. That isn’t only because of the film’s length — nearly three-and-a-half hours — although that’s certainly part of it.An epic Western crime drama based on real and entirely stomach-turning events from roughly a century ago, the latest film from acclaimed director Martin Scorsese could be seen as so many things. Among them: a treatise on greed and exploitation and a character study of the extremely flawed man at the center of the story, Ernest Burkhart. And while it excels at being neither of those, Scorsese’s chronicling of the so-called “Reign of Terror” experienced by the Osage nation — during which many of its members were systematically killed by those wishing to obtain the Native American group’s oil-related wealth — it nonetheless is a largely compelling and engaging cinematic experience. In theaters this week and bound for Apple TV+ at some point down the line, “Flower Moon” moves m...Inflation slowing investment in Denver-Boulder’s commercial real estate market

In turn, leasing in the life sciences industry plummeted in the first half of 2023 compared to last year, with only 170,000 square feet of leasing activity. For context, the area’s market consists of around 5.5 million square feet of life sciences inventory at an average rent of about $17 per square foot, Cushman & Wakefield’s report said.During the first half of the year, the Denver area saw only one life sciences industry sale: 389 Disc Drive in Longmont, bought by Boulder real estate investment firm Conscience Bay Company from Seagate Technology in June.
